About the CMS_lmc

The Mission of the Canonsburg Middle School Library Media Center is to be a Learning Commons for the Canonsburg Middle School Students and Staff -- a place of teaching and learning, inquiry and creativity, communication and sharing, collaboration and community



Mrs. Barbarino, the teacher-librarian at Canonsburg Middle School, works in collaboration with the entire CMS team to provide instruction, learning strategies, and practice in using the essential learning skills needed for the 21st century.  We prepare students with the resources & tools to:


  • inquire, think critically, and gain knowledge;


  • draw conclusions, make informed decision, apply knowledge to new situations, and create new knowledge;


  • share knowledge and participate ethically and productively as members of our democratic society;


  • pursue personal and aesthetic growth.

    Canonsburg Middle School, part of the Canon-McMillan School District, is a 2014 Pennsylvania Don Eichhorn and National Schools to Watch Middle School.  We are located in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.
